The bigger the waist size the longer the leg will be:-
i.e 30 Short will have a 29" inside leg, a 40 short will have a 30" inside leg. This is due to the way the cloth rises on a bigger waist and therefore even if your leg actually measures 29 and you have a 42 waist, then the trousers will fit even though the leg is slightly longer
